This week, we had sharks and other species of pelagic fishes. I and my group members picked up a shark with about 1.3 meter long body. Though dead, their morphology really excited me. The streamline body, heterocercal caudal fin and highly developed sensory structures. These features have been shaped in ancient time and still enable the organisms to indulge themselves in being on top on food chains.

When I accidentally squeezed (or just grabbed) the shark's head, red jelly (perhaps due to bood pigment) oozed out from sensory canals. We also observed lateral lines runnig on each sides of whole length from head to tail as we chopped it off at posterior trunk.

They are just cool creatures. I'd be stunned if I see them swimming alive. How fascinating.

Why do we live? Why breathe? Why feel sad or angry? Why are you desperate?

These days, I've been exhausted from work. And this makes me think about my life in a different way I normally do. Although I am fortunate enough to be given a chance from my parents to pursue my academic career and I am 120 % sure that this will be a call for me, I can't help feeling tired of sitting a whole day and looking at texts and feeling anxious about results and unseen future.

Ah, I should take a rest and unwind a bit.

Look at this. I murdered.... an ox. We were provided with this huge ox's heart. I couldn't stop laughing at the sight of the gigantic heart. I'd never seen a heart as huge as this. The biggest one I saw was small bird's which we Japanese eat.

I thought I would get squeamish before the prac, but I suppose I'm pretty much a scientist because I didn't feel like it a bit. It is inevitable to hide a curiosity towards animals now that I've devoted 2 years to biology and science. It feels strange to think myself that way as I didn't like studying when I was younger.

She likes to get in a basket, but she needs an engine to travel in the air. I am designated as the engine of her special vehicle.

"Manzai" means a comic dialogue by two comedians (refer to English dictionary). A tall man is my brother and a short guy is his partner. No words exchanged, but fun.
